 240/4 compatible Home WiFi Routers

This section presents three lists of possible sources for RGs:

    A.    Retail Home WiFi Routers factory enabled with 240/4 compatiblity:

For new installations, the WAN ports of these Routers will function as 240/4 netblock DHCP clients. This is the most straightforward Candidate for RG.

B. Retail Home WiFi Routers factory preloaded with OpenWrt (v19.07.3 or later):

Like the above, Routers presented here can be used out of the box for EzIP installations, without the concern of 240/4 compatibility.

C. Home WiFi Routers that can be flashed with OpenWrt firmware:

For well-behaving Home WiFi Routers, especially those fairly new installations, flashing the device with the latest Openwrt firmware may be worth the effort. Look up the Brand Name and Model number of the router of interest in the OpenWrt ToH below and then follow the instruction to upgrade. This approach is well-suited for those who are comfortable with handling digital device update processes.

On the other hand, in a community setting, this firmware flashing process may be delegated to a technical team to alleviate membrs from individually learning this one-time procedure.
